On June 25, 2024, the FLL symposium on tree protection and construction supervision took place at the Wedau Sports School in Duisburg. The presentations gave the approximately 110 participants an overview of the contents of the new FLL technical report. The event was moderated by the President of the FLL, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Kias. In his presentation, Thomas Amtage discussed the objectives, content and application of the new technical report. This was followed by a presentation by Dr. Cedric Vornholt on the topic of “Legal framework conditions for tree protection construction supervision”.
Before the lunch break, Dr. Markus Streckenbach gave a presentation on “Basic knowledge on trees and soil” with a special focus on the causes and effects of interventions. During the lunch break, the participants were able to exchange ideas with each other as well as with the advertising partners at the exhibition stands.
After the lunch break, the participants were given insights into the topics of environmental construction supervision (Roland Fähndrich), the economic effects and consequences of a lack of tree protection construction supervision (Andreas Schulz) and a presentation on how tree protection construction supervision can be integrated into the planning and construction phases (Gernot Fischer).
PBSGEO was on site as an advertising partner and exhibitor at the FLL symposium and was able to give participants an insight into its digital tree register during the breaks. Trees, plants and control areas can be easily created and digitally managed and tree inspections can be carried out optimally in accordance with FLL.
