From 18 to 20. September 2024, the FIAT IFTA Congress took place in Krakow. The FIAT-IFTA (Fédération Internationale des Associations de Funeral Professionals), also known as the World Organisation of Funeral Professionals, is a world-renowned institution dedicated to promoting funeral and funeral practices as well as the further development of the funeral system. The congress attracted professionals from the funeral industry from around the world, offering a valuable platform for exchanging information about new developments and innovations.
First participation of PBSGEO GmbH and presentation by Stefan Schumacher
PBSGEO GmbH took part in this year’s FIAT-IFTA Congress for the first time. Managing Director Stefan Schumacher was on site as a speaker and gave a presentation on the topic “Cemeteries with AI – how cultural heritage and collective memory are preserved through digital innovation.” In his presentation, Mr. Schumacher explained how artificial intelligence can help not only document cemeteries, but also preserve them as places of collective memory. Through digital innovations, graves and monuments can be secured and placed in a global context, so that cultural heritage is preserved for future generations.
