Our History

PBSGEO GMBH: From planning office to software development

PBSGEO is a spin-off of planungsbüro schumacher. This connection can still be recognized today by the first three letters of our company name. We started out in 2011 as an engineering office for geoinformatics and initially worked on a variety of projects relating to the processing of geodata for public administrations.

In 2013, we were then asked by a client to develop a mapping solution for their existing cemetery database. This idea gave rise to our pg_friedhof desktop application, which we developed on the basis of open source software (QGIS).

The number of customers increased relatively quickly as a result, which encouraged us to focus our business activities on the cemetery sector. The addition of a web application and a mobile application to pg_friedhof led us to the point where we are today:

With the pg_friedhof product family, we have the most powerful cemetery cadastre on the German-speaking market (as of 2024).

The requirement to digitally map the cemetery with all areas, trees and infrastructure led us to develop our applications pg_baum (tree cadastre) and pg_grün (green space cadastre), which are now also marketed as separate products. Just like the pg_friedhof product family, these applications have been developed for all common operating systems and end devices.

We do what we do from the heart and out of a deep conviction that we are doing the right thing. This is confirmed by the numerous awards we have won for our products and services.

Among other things, we are currently working on the internationalization of our products and are preparing to enter the South American market.

2024 will be very exciting for us. As always, we have far more ideas than capacity!

I would like to thank all our customers who have accompanied us this far.

Everything that makes PBSGEO what it is would never have been possible without our outstanding team. I would therefore also like to thank all our employees.

Yours,

Stefan Schumacher
